It was night, and I was driving down a busy street.
Up ahead, I saw a cat at the edge of the road. I could tell from his body language that he was debating on crossing.
"Don't do it," I thought to myself.
But it was too late. Before I knew it he was gone. Dashing across lanes, narrowly evading car after car and smears of light.
But when he got to that last lane. Smack.
A truck hit him full force and he was flung into the air, tumbling end over end.
It was very difficult for me to witness.
I doubled back and pulled over. I found the cat motionless in the road, and timing it just right, I scooped him up and wrapped him in my shirt.
He was warm. Limp. I could feel his body broken within. His jaw askew.
No collar, but well fed, and old enough to know you shouldn't go running across busy streets.
I couldn't tell for sure, it may have just been my optimism, but I thought I could still feel life within him.
I put him in my car and rushed off.
I bolted to the animal hospital, cat in arms, shirtless. I kicked open the door like I was in some kind of movie.
They took him to the back.
He had no pulse.
I cried.
I've always wondered why that happened.

...pancho y lula
I was bestowed the honor of designing a tattoo for my friend, in homage to her grandparents Pancho and Lula. I started by ripping off some poses from that LOVE IS comic series and rockabillying them out.
Eventually, it evolved into something a bit different. The final product came out super clean!

...pick the world up...
When I was 13 years old my younger cousin and I got bitten and stung by wasps all over our bodies. We were visiting Big Bear, California for a family Thanksgiving. As we traversed a hillside, he accidentally stepped into an underground wasp nest.
I turned back to find him crying, clutching his throat. As I approached him, we were instantaneously engulfed in a malicious, black cloud of pain. I tried picking the venom sacks out of his throat (which by the way should NOT be done because it injects the venom evidently) before I realized that we had to get the hell out of there.
After the chaos, each of us picked out upwards of thirty venom sacks from our heads alone. Bites and stings EVERYWHERE. In the nose. Inside of the mouth.
I remember being in such severe pain that I thought I would die that night.
Here are a few pieces I did for our !PELIGRO! show last month.
These items are available for purchase! Please contact for further details.
More pictures of the event coming soon, but if you haven't seen my brother shredding then frankly I am saddened by the lack of shreddage that your life once was...not to fear!
