...pancho y lula

I was bestowed the honor of designing a tattoo for my friend, in homage to her grandparents Pancho and Lula. I started by ripping off some poses from that LOVE IS comic series and rockabillying them out.

Eventually, it evolved into something a bit different. The final product came out super clean!

...pick the world up...

When I was 13 years old my younger cousin and I got bitten and stung by wasps all over our bodies. We were visiting Big Bear, California for a family Thanksgiving. As we traversed a hillside, he accidentally stepped into an underground wasp nest.
I turned back to find him crying, clutching his throat. As I approached him, we were instantaneously engulfed in a malicious, black cloud of pain. I tried picking the venom sacks out of his throat (which by the way should NOT be done because it injects the venom evidently) before I realized that we had to get the hell out of there.
After the chaos, each of us picked out upwards of thirty venom sacks from our heads alone. Bites and stings EVERYWHERE. In the nose. Inside of the mouth.
I remember being in such severe pain that I thought I would die that night.

Here are a few pieces I did for our !PELIGRO! show last month.

These items are available for purchase! Please contact for further details.

More pictures of the event coming soon, but if you haven't seen my brother shredding then frankly I am saddened by the lack of shreddage that your life once was...not to fear!

...nightmares

So I had been working on a piece for over a month, and on the night that I finished it, it was stolen. It was on a wood panel and I hadn't scanned it or taken any pictures of it.

Needless to say, I ran the gamut of emotions: rage, denial, bargaining, depression, and finally acceptance.

Then I realized, I think what I liked the most about traditional media, besides its tangibility, was its sincerity and vulnerability. This realization helped me to cope with the fact that it is gone forever.

So instead, I found some old sketches of nightmares that I've had.

...guerilla marketing

Hello Friends,
Just finished some stickers. I now have a giant brick of them (much more than I had anticipated) so send me your address and a buck and I'll send you a chunk.

They're about the size of a postcard and conveniently stickable on all stop signs and Dennys' bathroom walls.

...the sad birds

So I've been reading a lot of Richard Brautigan poetry lately, and now I paint the sad bird series. More to come.
